Shit I Like: A Series
Stuff I liked this week

It’s no secret that the world is a mess and there’s a new horror every day. But there is also some good things still happening, and every Friday I like to look back at the week and share some shit I liked.
Probably the biggest thing bringing me joy is Unrivaled, the new women’s 3-on-3 basketball league made up of six teams. The league offers WNBA players the ability to supplement their WNBA salaries without having to play overseas, plus it’s some damn good basketball. Games are played Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays with two games per day and can be watched on TNT, TruTV, and MAX.
Gov. Wes Moore of Maryland certified an amendment enshrining reproductive freedom — including the right to an abortion — in the state constitution after 76% of Maryland voters passed the amendment in November.
I don’t care about mens sports, but the Philadelphia Eagles are going to the Super Bowl and that means I get to see more of Jalen Hurts, and that’s something I like.
The movie Companion comes out today and, based on the previews, it seems to be about a woman who is an AI bot programmed by her boyfriend who then takes bloody revenge when she figures out who and what she is. I was already excited to see it based on the trailer, and that fact that it currently has a 95% fresh rating out of 104 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes is the cherry on top.
The Marriage Equality Act went into effect in Thailand. This law allows LGBTQ Thai couples to legally register their marriages and receive the same rights as heterosexual couples. This makes Thailand the first country in Southeast Asia to recognize same-sex marriages.
